The SimpleFolio community thanks Samir Kamble for his fixes to repair the SimpleFolio 1.5 slider, which broke in WordPress 3.2.1:

  1. Open “template-home.php” in your favorite code editor.
  2. Look for the following line:
    $category = get_option('sf_portfolio_category');
  3. Change it to
    $category = sf_get_category_id(get_option('sf_portfolio_category'));
  4. Look for the following line:
    $my_query = new WP_Query('showposts='.$slide_count.'&category_name='.$category);
  5. Change it to
    $my_query = new WP_Query('showposts='.$slide_count.'&cat='.$category);

I dealt with this by hard-coding the category ID into the template-home.php page, but Samir offers the correct solution. Anyone who can follow his directions can do this. Note that you must not use a word processor like MS Word when editing code; use a simple text editor or a code editor. Word processors insert a lot of garbage encoding that will wreck code files.
